Betty's Not A Vitamin by Myla Madson
Myla Madson.com I've always liked most of my daughter's music and have even accompanied her to a few concerts. Actually, I was the taxi service again and not permitted to acknowledge her existence while at the concert hall, but still, I usually enjoyed myself, happily sharing the experience with other forgotten parents up in the nose-bleed section.
A fair compromise I suppose, but my sister would have none of it. She told me there was a story about this band in the paper just the other day and that they were nothing but a bunch of drugged up hippies playing the Devil's music.
Oh my, the Devil's music?
Yes, the Devil's music!
I asked her the name of the band and she said it was, "Betty's Not A Vitamin".
... this is only an excerpt. Read the whole story here!

Also in other Radioland news, local Tampa station WMNF has spun both "Broken Day" and "Seventynine" in the last 2 weeks. Thanks to the folks at WMNF for giving local music some great exposure!
Thanks to Jon Flanagan at Radio and Retail Promotions and our manager Eddie Adams for making this all happen. This is only the beginning folks, 2008 is looking like a great year for BNAV! Stay Tuned! |

Goodbye Greg......
|
The BNAV and Tampa Bay music family suffered a huge loss with the death of Greg Marchak early Friday morning. Greg was a widely respected engineer and producer in the area. He was behind the mixing board at BNAV's first gig in March of 1994, and engineered and co-produced BNAV over almost 9 years of recording at Audio Lab, including our CD released this year. This is a shot of Greg behind the mixing board at Audio Lab, taken from the studio floor downstairs. This is how we will remember him, guiding our sessions all night, his humor, hearing "Good Luck" and a chuckle in our headphones before a take, pushing us to be "Rock Jackals". He was the most ALIVE, genuine, and real person. God Bless You Brother Greg, it was a pleasure to know you, you are missed. Love...Chris, Todd, Rick and Rob.
